About Vehicle for Good

By offering incredible sweepstakes, we help nonprofits reduce the stress of raising funds so they can make a bigger impact on the world.

Hey Friend,

At Vehicle for Good, we recognize the constant effort that nonprofits put toward raising funds, yet they feel they're always struggling to gain a sense of financial stability. It just doesn't seem fair that they need to sacrifice time that could be spent on their mission in order to raise money for their cause.

We know that when nonprofits have the funds they need, it fuels their creativity and vision, strengthens the family lives of their staff, and helps them feel empowered and fulfilled. We wanted to find a way to help and decided to take action. That's when Vehicle for Good was launched.

We've Collectively Spent More Than 2 Decades In The Non-Profit World And Fully Understand The Ups And Downs Of Fundraising.

Now we work in our superpower (communicating to generate action) so we can enable nonprofits to help more people.

Like you, we care about making a difference in the world. As we asked ourselves how we could help more, we had some huge ideas that brought us here. We created a venue for amazing sweepstakes so we can draw more people together to help. We're on the path to massive fundraising for some great causes, and we're thrilled that you're on the journey with us.

Nonprofits are constantly having to search for their next donor. It’s time-consuming, exhausting, and distracts from their mission. We generate income to benefit their work so they can reduce stress and focus more energy on fulfilling their cause.

FAQs

How are you different from every other sweepstakes company?

100% Nonprofit from Start to Finish: We are the only sweepstakes organization we’ve found that operates solely as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every layer of our process, from the planning to the execution, is nonprofit-driven. There is no profit made at any stage, and we report to the IRS as a nonprofit only. Our entire mission is focused on raising funds for causes, not for personal or corporate gain.

Support for Multiple Nonprofits: Unlike nonprofits that run their own individual sweepstakes, we are structured to support multiple nonprofits and causes at the same time. We are unique in that we can help numerous organizations in need, rather than focusing on just one.

Dedicated to Nonprofits That Can’t Afford Professional Marketing: We specifically sought out public charity status to work with smaller nonprofits that can’t afford the professional marketing and fundraising services that larger organizations typically have. You can see the breakdown of how we work with nonprofits on our Nonprofit Application page, providing transparency in our approach.

Not a For-Profit Business: Many sweepstakes companies operate as for-profit businesses, working either with their own nonprofit or simply donating a portion of their profits to charity. While there’s nothing wrong with that model, our mission is different. We aim to be fully responsible for every dollar raised and how it is used, ensuring long-term trust and accountability with our supporters.

Focused on the Underdogs: You might not recognize the nonprofits we support because we focus on helping smaller organizations—the underdogs—get a leg up. These are often nonprofits that don’t have the visibility or recognition that larger, national brands enjoy, which means our reach may be smaller for now. Our 1.5-person paid staff, small board, and the lesser-known charities we support mean we haven’t raised as much as larger sweepstakes companies. But we believe in the importance of lifting these smaller nonprofits to make better decisions for their communities.

How much do the nonprofits receive?

For detailed information on how the funds are distributed, see "How does the money work in a sweepstakes?"

How much does Vehicle for Good earn?

Check out "How does the money work in a sweepstakes?" for more information on how we allocate funds.

How does the money work in a sweepstakes?

First, we cover all expenses associated with the sweepstakes, which include:

  • The prize (either the vehicle or cash)
  • Commissions
  • Contractor fees
  • Advertising and marketing costs
  • Printing
  • Travel

After all expenses are paid, Vehicle for Good takes 15% of the remaining funds for operational costs—but only if the nonprofit makes more than us. If 15% exceeds what the nonprofit earns, we split the remaining amount with the nonprofit.

As we grow our audience and raise more funds, the nonprofits receive a larger share, and this percentage increases over time as we reduce fixed costs. This explains why the amount donated from each sweepstakes can vary based on its success.

A brief history of our finances:

  • In 2022, we took a personal loan of $15,000 to get through our first sweepstakes, where we actually lost money.
  • Vehicle for Good didn’t make any money from sweepstakes until 2024.
  • No one on the team was paid until June 2024.
Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes! One hundred percent of every donation goes to Vehicle for Good Inc., a U.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity, federal tax ID # 88-1426784 located in Fort Worth, Texas. Any donation you make through Vehicle for Good is tax deductible in the United States. And we’ll always email you a receipt of your donation.

Do people really win & how do I know if I've won?

Yes! Every Vehicle for Good winner is randomly selected using an automated drawing process. We announce winners over email, our social media and the Winners page. Watch our video that explains the entire winner process here.

How many entries can I earn?

The number of entries you can earn varies by sweepstakes, as we continually learn and adjust what helps generate the most support for our nonprofit partners. Each sweepstakes has its own unique structure to offer the best chance to raise funds for the cause, and entry caps are determined by the specific details of each promotion. Be sure to review the official rules on the entry page for the specifics of each promotion.

We also offer special deals and entry packages, which we’ve found to be effective in driving more donations to support the nonprofits we work with. Without these packages and the continued generosity of our donors, we wouldn’t have been able to make the impact we have so far. Our goal is to help nonprofits raise as much money as possible, and as we grow our list of supporters and learn what works best, we’ll continue to evolve and improve.

Thank you for being part of our mission to make a difference!

What types of nonprofits do you work with?

We work with nonprofits that can’t afford professional marketing and fundraising services, which aligns with our qualification as a 501(c)(3) with the IRS. You can find more information about the types of nonprofits we support and our qualifications on our application page.

Who can enter a sweepstakes?

Eligibility varies by sweepstakes, so check the official terms for each. Generally, anyone who is a U.S. citizen, 18 years or older, and resides in one of the 50 states can participate.

Are the cars donated, or do you purchase them?

So far, we haven’t had a vehicle fully donated, but we've managed to secure some great deals below MSRP. The vehicle cost has been the largest expense for each sweepstakes. As we grow, we hope to find vehicle donors. If you know someone who would like to donate a car with strong appeal, let us know! 😉
